Anthony Taylor demanded a rematch with Tommy Fury before calling him a ‘p***y’ for turning down his $1.5million (£1.27m) offer to fight in Dubai on Sunday evening.

Taylor – who was beaten by Fury in August 2021 – fought against former Love Island contestant Jack Fincham on the undercard of Floyd Mayweather vs Deji on Sunday.

Given it was an exhibition bout, there was no official winner or loser and both men’s hands were raised in the air. However, Taylor did take the opportunity to call out Fury.

Taylor grabbed the microphone while standing in the ring on Sunday evening. He called out Fury for a rematch and disclosed how the 23-year-old had turned down the opportunity to fight earlier that day.

Taylor explained how he had offered to step up and fight Fury after TNT’s opponent Paul Bamba pulled out from the contest.

Taylor said: ‘Tommy Fury declined my fight offer three hours before the fight. $1.5million, he declined it, he’s a p***y.

‘John Fury, if you’re out there, bring your a*** over here. Tommy get your a*** in the gym. I ain’t leaving this ring until I fight Tommy Fury, you’re gonna need security to get me out of this ring.’

Fury was meant to take on Bamba on the undercard of Mayweather’s exhibition bout against Deji . However, TNT weighed-in at just over 181lb.

Given the fact he was almost 7lb above the light heavyweight limit, Global Titans decided to pull the plug on the bout.

Therefore, Taylor offered to step up and replace Bamba. He even tabled $1.5m (£1.27m) to make the fight happen.

However, he said Fury turned down the opportunity to fight just three hours before his scheduled contest was due to take place.

Taylor was frustrated given the fact he wanted to get revenge on Fury following their last encounter.

Fury secured his first victory in the US when he fought against Taylor in August 2021. The judges scored the fight 40-36 to TNT.
