Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez says it ‘would be an honor’ to serve as Vice President in a Bernie Sanders Administration.

The firebrand Congresswoman, who was only elected to the House of Representatives last November, made the admission during a sit-down interview with Noticias Telemundo on Monday.

However, despite her dreams of being Sanders’ second-in-charge, Ocasio-Cortez, 30, conceded she would be unable to do so as she is too young.

In the United States, both the President and Vice President must be at least 35 years of age.

Ocasio-Cortez has endorsed Sanders for President, and had spoken with him at numerous campaign stops in the past several months.

She told Noticias Telemundo that campaigning for Sanders back in 2016 kick-started her own whirlwind ride to congress.

‘I was a community organizer in the Bronx for Senator Sanders during the last presidential campaign. That was my first experience, organizing right there in the street for an election,’ she stated.

On Sunday, Ocasio-Cortez gave a keynote address at Sanders’ Spanish-language town hall in Las Vegas. She revealed on Twitter that she was ‘nervous’ ahead of the event, as she does not regularly speak the language despite having a Puerto Rican mother.

She later told Noticias Telemundo: ‘If we are first- or second-generation, it is important that we cultivate our language. I must speak and practice more to improve my own Spanish. Our language is the link with our families and our communities’.

Meanwhile, she also spoke alongside Sanders at a campaign event in Los Angeles last weekend – an event that attracted thousands of enthusiastic supporters.

She told supporters to rally around Sanders, however she conceded in her interview with Noticias Telemundo that she would be willing to support whoever won the Democratic nomination in order to boot President Trump from the White House.

‘I think we have good candidates in the primary, but I think that we have to support whoever wins the ticket, because we need to get this president out of the Oval Office.’

She also accused Trump of being both ‘racist’ and ‘afraid of Latina women’ during the interview.

‘He’s a racist and he’s anti-immigrants, but more than that, his administration is very corrupt.

‘I think he has a track record of – I think he’s afraid of women, of strong women, of Latina women. It’s very antithetic, his values.’
