Apollo Jackson explains nervous chat about settling down

Bachelorette Sophie Monk sent her hunky magician suitor home after an awkward discussion on marriage seemingly confirmed they were not on the same page.

But Apollo Jackson took to social media after the episode aired on Wednesday to clear up what he REALLY meant by his comments.

The 24-year-old shocked Sophie when he mentioned he was keen on settling down in ‘four to six’ years.

Sophie has persistently told her eligible bachelors she wants To find love, get married and have children with her ‘winner’.

Opening up about his feelings for the former Bardot singe, he told her: ‘I can really see a future with you. I sort of, you know, look at getting married and that sort of thing.’ 

‘You really would be ready?’ Sophie lit up, only for her mood to drop after Apollo quickly corrected his comment: ‘I can… Yeah, in the next, like, four years, I reckon… ..four to, four to, you know, yeah, six years, I can…’

The pair then fell into an awkward silence, eating cheese, drinking wine and humming as they avoided further chat or locking lips.

‘Those feelings are developing, so, yeah, I just froze tonight. I was really nervous and couldn’t get words to come out my mouth,’ he told the cameras during the episode.

Apollo has since broken his silence on the nervous exchange, writing a lengthy Instagram post that read: ‘Definitely not the ending I’d hoped for, 3-6 years was meant to be my reply for kids but I crumbled.’

He continued: ‘Sophie is an absolutely amazing woman in every way and I wish her all the happiness I know she’ll make the right decision and end up with an awesome partner who’ll treat her right…It’s been a whirlwind experience full of challenges, life lessons and moments ill never forget. I’ve learnt so much about my myself.’

‘My heart is still open for finding love and I know the right person is out there for me,’ Apollo ended his upload.

Appearing to know his fate well before it was announced, Apollo said: ‘There was a lot of serious things brought up about the future and I crumbled, I’m really, really worried.’
