Ariana Grande fought back tears as she appeared in her first television interview since the Manchester Arena terrorist attack.
The singer, 24, visibly welled during an interview on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon on Tuesday, marking her first televised appearance since the bombing just under a year ago.
Fallon, 43, praised the One Last Time hitmaker for her bravery after the tragic event and thanked her for coming on the show.

Jimmy said: ‘I haven’t seen you in over a year probably and I haven’t seen you since the tragic events that happened in Manchester.
‘I know it’s just tough for everybody, tough for fans and tough for you, and I know you haven’t done any interviews, and I understand that.
‘I just wanted to say thank you so much for coming on the show and for being strong and for entertaining and for showing up and going back to Manchester and doing a benefit.
‘I thought that was awesome of you. I just think you’re so strong and so cool.’
In response, Ariana appeared to well up and said: ‘Thanks, thank you.’

The host then quoted message that Ariana shared on Instagram at the time, which read: ‘We won’t let hate win.
‘Our response to this violence must be to come closer together, to help each other, to love more, to sing louder, and to live more kindly and generously than we did before.’
Ariana’s manager Scooter Braun has previously spoken about the aftermath of the terror attack at her concert in Manchester on May 22 2017, which killed 22 people.

Scooter, 36, admitted Ariana ‘suffered from trauma’ and found it incredibly difficult as she met with 19 injured concertgoers and families at hospital following the devastating attack.
Speaking to the Big Questions with Cal Fussman podcast, Scooter revealed the singer ‘cried for days’ and she struggled with the decision of keeping her Dangerous Woman tour going.
‘When she found out that fans of hers had died she was so sad,’ Scooter recalled.
‘She cried for days, she he felt everything – every face they announced, every name, she wore on her sleeve. Every bit of emotion because that’s who she is.’
The pair went on to visit the 19 injured concertgoers at the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital, which Scooter admitted was the ‘hardest two hours of either of our lives’.

Following the devastating terror attack, Ariana took to the stage in Manchester at the Emirates Old Trafford cricket ground to host her star-studded One Love benefit concert.
It was held in aid of the victims and all families that suffered in the wake of the bombing that took place moments after Ariana had finished her performance on May 22.
Ariana was joined by a slew of global superstars for the benefit gig, including Miley Cyrus, Katy Perry, Pharrell Williams, the Black Eyed Peas, Little Mix and Robbie Williams.
All artists performed for free, while Live Nation has covered the costs of the concert.
Ariana assigned those that were in attendance at her concert on Monday free tickets to the event, while the gig itself was televised for the public on the BBC, and streamed on BBC Radio 1.
