A drone was deployed to check out the situation about 11.30am and tactical officers armed with automatic weapons arrived an hour later.

About 12.45pm police began negotiating thorough a loudspeaker and by 2pm the situation was over, though it was not clear why or how.

‘We had things under control, we had police resources in place and at no time was any member of the community put in any danger,’ ACT Police said.
