Armie Hammer’s wife admits bizarre video of son sucking on his toes was not the best idea

Armie Hammer’s wife has addressed backlash from a video of the couple’s two-year-old son sucking on her husband’s toes.  

The actor posted the video on his Instagram Story on Saturday, writing in the caption: ‘This happened for a solid 7 minutes #footfetishonfleek.’ 

The clip sent social media into a frenzy as hundreds of critics blasted the parents for allowing their tot to engage in such a behavior.  

Elizabeth Chambers Hammer, who filmed the video, defended herself and her husband by explaining that, contrary to the caption, the toe-sucking only went on for a few seconds. 

She contended that it was merely a family joke but admitted that ‘sharing the video on Instagram was def not the best move on [Armie’s] part’.

In the video, which has since been deleted, Armie can be heard laughing at his son’s childish antics while behind the camera a ticked Elizabeth says: ‘This is not normal.’  

After Ford removes the toes from his mouth, his smiling father says: ‘Alright, no more.’ 

The video went viral online as commenters questioned why Armie would post it and why he let the behavior go on for so long in the first place. 

‘Armie Hammer not only let his son suck on his toes, but he also took a video of it AND posted it on Instagram…?’ one critic wrote. 

‘TOTALLY NOT FUNNY … inappropriate,’ another said. 

‘When I saw Armie Hammer is trending, I was worried it might be because he put his foot in his mouth, and, well, I was close,’ yet another user quipped. 

Others came to the actor’s defense, noting that youngsters will put anything they get their hands on into their mouths.  

‘Babies chew on weird stuff all the time (or at least teething),’ one wrote.  

Another supporter said: ‘That Armie Hammer video is not the best thing but it’s not even that bad. This wasn’t even in a sexual way. Kids do these things all the time like when they suck on the pacifier is it sexual??’ 

The video caught the eye of celebrity blogger Perez Hilton, who shared it on his Instagram and asked followers whether they felt it was ‘inappropriate or funny’.

Mom Elizabeth replied to the post to offer an explanation.

‘It wasn’t seven minutes… more like five seconds,’ she wrote. 

‘Our son likes to play with people’s feet and I put the video on our family stream because this phase is an ongoing joke. 

‘Sharing the video on Instagram was def not the best move on A’s part,  but I can assure you that our children’s safety and well-being is always our first priority.’

Armie, who also has a four-year-old daughter with Elizabeth named Harper Grace, has yet to respond to the backlash himself.
