His health was on the line as he underwent emergency heart surgery late last week.

But Arnold Schwarzenegger appeared to be on the mend as he tweeted to his followers on Monday morning. 

The 70-year-old actor expressed gratitude to the doctors and nurses that performed the procedure, and made sure to quote his Terminator character’s famous line as he was ushered back into social media.

‘It’s true: I’m back! I went to sleep expecting to wake up with a small incision and woke up with a big one – but guess what? I woke up, and that’s something to be thankful for,’ he tweeted on Monday morning.

‘Thank you to the doctors & nurses. And I’m truly filled with gratitude for all of the kind messages.’

The former governor of California underwent an emergency open-heart surgery on Thursday so that doctors could unblock a pulmonary valve.

His ex-wife Maria Shriver and their children Patrick, Katherine and Christina had plenty to be thankful for when they attended a church service in Brentwood on Sunday. 

The journalist paired an eye-catching yellow floral dress with strappy wedge heels and a red leather handbag.

Her auburn tresses were worn loose and the niece of JFK shielded her eyes with a pair of dark shades.

Shriver wore plenty of bling for the day out, pairing a gold watch with dangle earrings, a heavy gold chain and several bracelets. 

The NBC news correspondent was joined by three of the children she shares with the Kindergarten Cop star:  Katherine, 28, Christina, 26 and Patrick, 24.

Her second oldest child, Christina, went with a mostly black ensemble for the LA church service, with her pink ballet-style flats her sole concession to color.

Midnight Sun star Patrick meanwhile looked suave in an untucked white shirt, distressed jeans and tan boots.

His friend and colleague Sylvester Stallone, 71, had some words of encouragement for the Terminator 2 star, telling TMZ: ‘Arnold’s a strong man, he’ll be bigger and better than ever.’  

The Expendables actor was asked whether Arnie’s health scare is enough to put Stallone off cigars.

‘Some things you just can’t give up: stogies and breathing,’ quipped the Creed actor.

When asked if he thinks Schwarzenegger will quit smoking, the action star simply said ‘Doubt it.’
