Nelson is set to be one of a number of deadline day departures from Arsenal.

Right-back Hector Bellerin has undergone a medical ahead of a loan move to Real Betis and goalkeeper Alex Runarsson has joined Belgian side OH Leuven on loan with an option to buy.

Meanwhile defender Takehiro Tomiyasu has also had a medical ahead of an initial £16m move to Arsenal from Bologna.

Arsenal are braced for a hectic scramble on deadline day.

This summer has seen the club splash out on five new signings, including £50million man Ben White and the return of Martin Odegaard from Real Madrid.

But they have also been busy brokering outgoings, too, with Willian cancelling his contract and sacrificing around £20million in wages, as Sportsmail reported.

There is also interest in Mohamed Elneny with just hours left until the window slams shit

Bellerin and Elneny may be the next to follow Nelson out of the Emirates exit, with interest expressed in both players before the window slams shut this evening.

Feyenoord switched their attention to Nelson after their approach for Manchester United youngster Amad Diallo collapsed following his training injury.

Crystal Palace also enquired about Nelson, and fell short in their pursuit of striker Eddie Nketiah, who is now set to stay at the Emirates.

He may replace Ainsley Maitland-Niles, who has been told to train away from the first-team after expressing his anger at being prevented from joining Everton.

Sportsmail revealed that the Merseyside outfit tabled a bid for the 24-year-old, who was told in a meeting that he was not allowed to leave this summer.

Earlier on Monday, Maitland-Niles posted: ‘All I wanna do is go where I’m wanted and where I’m gonna play @arsenal.’
