Artem Chigvintsev, 39, taking a break from DWTS tour to attend to ‘some unexpected health issues’

Artem Chigvintsev is stepping down from his role in the Dancing With The Stars tour that’s currently traveling through the U.S.

The professional dancer, who joined the reality competition series for season 19 in 2014, revealed in an Instagram post that he’s temporarily leaving the traveling show so he can attend to some health issues. 

‘My time on tour so far has been wonderful – unfortunately I am having to step away from tour for a while, due to some unexpected health issues,’ the 39-year-old native of Russia wrote in his social media statement.

‘My goal is to recover as quickly as possible so I can rejoin my cast and crew on this incredible tour. Thank you for your patience and understanding. See you soon, Artem.’

A slew of people took to the comments section to share their support for Chigvintsev, including his fiancée and baby momma, Nikki Bella, who left a red heart emoji.

The couple have been an item since January 2019 after being paired up as partners for season 25 of DWTS that aired on September 18, 2017 through November 21, 2017.  

‘Sending you our get well wishes and a speedy recovery’ and ‘Sending you love & healing blessings,’ were among the comments that pretty much summed up what many of his fans and followers are sharing following his announcement.

The DWTS tour kicked off on January 7 at the Altria Theater in Richmond, Virginia. 

The first show Chigvintsev will miss is on Friday, January 21, at the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa in Atlantic City.   

Their grueling tour schedule takes the Dancing With The Stars Live 2022 troupe to the South and Midwest United States through March 8, with some scattered days off. 

Then it’s off to the West Coast for shows through until the final scheduled gig on March 27 at the Gallo Center For The Arts in Modesto, California.

The group of professional dancers starring in the latest touring incarnation include Brandon Armstrong, Alan Bersten, Sasha Farber, Daniella Karagach, Pasha Pashkov, Gleb Savchenko, Emma Slater, Britt Stewart and Sofia Ghavami.

Fans will get to such time-honored dances like the Cha Cha, Foxtrot, Salsa, Tango, and everything in between, according to its website, dwtstour.com.

Joining the tour for select dates are reigning Dancing With The Stars champions Kaitlyn Bristowe and Iman Shumpert, along with Jimmie Allen and Amanda Kloots.   

Chigvintsev most recently competed on season 30 of the DWTS series with actress Melora Hardin, which was won by NBA players Iman Shumpert and his dance pro partner Daniella Karagach.
