Artist creates stunning Breaking Bad portraits with salt

This shaking mad artist has created stunning images out of coloured salt, including portraits of characters from the hit US drama, Breaking Bad.

A spectacular timelapse video shows Canadian artist Bashir Sultani delicately shaping the faces of the chemistry teacher turned crystal meth cook, Walter White, and his sidekick Jesse Pinkman.

Using salt he dyes himself, Mr Sultani spends up to five hours creating each of his masterpieces which tend to require between 10 and 20 full salt shakers.

Since he started experimenting with salt, he has taken over 100 time lapses of his creations for his YouTube channel.

One of the artist’s specialities is creating realistic meals out of salt, including a tray of sushi, a fresh trout and a delicious looking burger.

Other creations include two koi fish, Spongebob Squarepants, and Dory from Finding Nemo – not to mention an emotive monochrome portrait of Martin Luther King.

Although Mr Sultani can spend hours on each of his creations, he often destroys the beautiful portraits in seconds.

Even though most of his work is therefore only preserved on video, Mr Sultani certainly seems to be shaking up the art world with his unique skill.
