Ash London gets death threats from Louis Tomlinson fans

Hell hath no fury like a One Directioner scorned.

Radio star Ash London discovered this the hard way on Tuesday after commenting about Louis Tomlinson’s appearance on 2Day FM as she chatted to co-hosts Ed Kavalee and Ash Williams.

The joke sent the star’s fans into meltdown, with Ash receiving a deluge of death threats and forcing her to temporarily quit social media after the online abuse became too much.

As she introduced a pre-recorded interview with the British popstar, Ash had joked that Louis was the one with ‘kind of like ratty facial hair’.

Co-host Ed added: ‘He’s not Harry Styles basically. He’s the least popular one.’

Then, as the interview was shared online, Ash faced an overwhelming backlash from Louis’ fans who were displeased about the radio personality’s description of him.

After temporarily making her Twitter profile private, Ash released a statement on her account in an attempt to subdue the angry commenters.

'Probs best to stay on private for a bit longer love!' An unimpressed Louis fanned the flames by tweeting at her with a middle finger emoji

‘This morning on air we had a great interview with Louis. As always — he was a total legend. I loved talking about how far he’s come, his new music and his future which looks so bright,’ she wrote.

‘We love Louis and will continue supporting him and his new music as we have always done.’

However, it appeared the statement did nothing to quash the backlash, particularly after an unimpressed Louis responded and further fanned the flames.

‘Probs best to stay on private for a bit longer love!’ he tweeted, adding a middle finger emoji.

The ensuing comments apparently became too much for Ash to bear, and she posted a second statement announcing her intention to retreat from social media.

‘Tough day. A lot of people claiming I said some things which in reality I simply didn’t,’ Ash wrote.

‘What I can apologise for, is describing the quality of someone’s facial hair in a lighthearted chat with my two co-hosts. For that I’m sorry. All the other stuff? Simply not true. Not me.

‘I’ll be off socials for a bit — the abuse and threats are a little much for me right now. I won’t go on private because I don’t have anything to hide. In future I’ll do what I always do — stick to the music and leave any mentions of facial hair out of it.’
