Aussie actor Keiynan Lonsdale channels ’80s nostalgia for his new music video

He’s the Aussie actor who has made a name for himself in the U.S. after starring in major projects like Love, Simon and The Flash.

Now Keiynan Lonsdale has returned to his first love – dance – as the inspiration for his latest music video for the song Rhythm & Music.

Speaking to Daily Mail Australia from his Los Angeles home, the 29-year-old said he still counts his blessings for being able to release music between making films.

‘I’m living my dream at the moment. It’s pretty surreal,’ he said.

‘I recognise that I’ve been at this for a really long time and I’ve got fans that have been with me since I was posting YouTube covers online.

‘I was a YouTube guy for years, but now I just put music videos on there and so there are people that have been with me, you know, watching this journey for ages.’

He added: ‘There are people that have come on board, not knowing that I did music or even that I was a dancer; they’ve just seen me in films or TV shows.’

Keiynan acknowledged that when it comes to choosing new projects, he has criteria based on how the project makes him feel.

‘I audition based on where I’m at personally, and where I think I’m going to be, and if I feel a connection,’ he said.

‘I just told him, “Adam, you’re everyone’s dreamboat. Will you be in the video?” and he said yes.’
