In a video shot by an onlooker caught in traffic, the uniformed driver is seen walking over to the snake and boldly picking it up by the tail.

He then carries it to the side of the road as the reptile tries to strike him a couple of times.

The driver then carefully lays his slithery obstacle down on a patch of grass next to a footpath and local shops before he walks away to resume his route.

A man on the footpath is also seen looking on in complete disbelief as to what he’d just witnessed.

The driver gestured to the road and appears to tell the onlooker he had just taken it out of the way of traffic, before he returned to the bus and continued on his way.

Social media users labelled the bus driver’s actions ‘typical’ of a Queenslander.

‘Tell me you live Queensland without telling me you live in Queensland,’ one person said.

‘Haha he just dumps it near the shops and footpath, love it,’ another wrote.
