Aussie singer and TikTok star, 25, is roasted for autotune-filled cover of Teenage Dirtbag 

Peach PRC has been roasted for her modern cover of Teenage Dirtbag by Wheatus – but she insists her critics are just ‘loser’ men.

The singer and TikTok star, 24, recently recorded her own dance version of the millennial classic; however, some critics say it includes too much autotune.

‘Absolutely slaughtered my childhood favourite,’ one social media user wrote.

‘So much autotune that this could be literally anyone,’ another said. ‘Never heard someone ruin a song so badly,’ a third wrote.

Peach PRC, whose real name is Shaylee Curnow, hit back the critics on Twitter, writing: ‘The amount of men who are being so mean about my Teenage Dirtbag cover lol.

‘They act like Metallica is gonna walk in their living room and hand them a beer for pointing out autotune. Being a loser takes inches off your hairline. Grow up.’

She also told 9Honey the band Wheatus privately messaged her to say they enjoyed her version and offered some advice.

‘They were like, “I think it’s awesome, it’s really fun.” Like, you know, “F**k what the haters are saying. Like, they hated it when we put it out 20 years ago. So like, don’t stress about it,”‘ she said.

She added: ‘A lot of artists, I’m sure, would love seeing their song reinvented years and years later.’ 

Peach PRC also hit back the critics on Twitter, writing: ‘The amount of men who are being so mean about my teenage dirtbag cover lol… grow up’

‘I’d be really flattered if someone did a cover of my song 20 years later and it was like a whole new sound. I’d be stoked about it.’

Peach PRC found fame on TikTok in 2020 and is now a successful musician.

She since accumulated 1.8 million followers and more than 100 million likes on the social media platform.
