Customers at a Perth Coles have been baffled by a bizarre note with instructions on how to buy tuna.

A ‘work experience boy’ sticky-taped the note in front of 80c tuna cans this week.

It reads: ‘Dear customer, I’m a visitor from work experience in Coles.

‘The problem was I don’t want you to touch the tuna please.

‘Because it messy but I clean up a bit.’

He then goes on to provide a number of ‘rules’ for customers who wish to purchase the canned tuna.

‘1. Don’t take another tuna you just take one out of time when the box is empty take one.

‘2. You buy sauce salt and bean or cans it ok.

‘3. If you don’t buy tuna then don’t buy it please.’

Understandably customers were completely baffled by the note.

One shopper took a photo of the note and posted it to Facebook on Thursday.

Daily Mail Australia has contacted Coles for comment.
