Australia is set for a SOAKING this weekend with the country shivering through its coldest start to a morning so far this year – so what’s the forecast in your area?

Winter has well and truly arrived in Australia, with testing temperatures and plenty of rain predicted for the next few days across most parts of the nation.
For Sydney residents, showers are predicted from Friday until Sunday, which isn’t good news for millions of people currently in the middle of a Covid lockdown – which was formally extended a week until July 16 by NSW premier Gladys Berejiklian on Wednesday.
Those who call the Harbour City home also endured their coldest morning of winter on Wednesday morning, with temperatures as low as 5.5C in some parts.
Bureau of Meteorology expert Jonathan How said umbrellas and plenty of warm clothing will be recommended in most capital cities.

‘The east and west coast of Australia will see a fair bit of rain, and some mornings will be quite chilly in other parts,’ he told Daily Mail Australia.
‘Sydney will experience a cold front on Friday, with as much as 20mm rain. And the winds could be ferocious on Saturday.
‘Perth won’t escape the harsh conditions either, and high seas are also predicted, especially over the weekend.
‘Adelaide and Hobart will be cold first thing most mornings, but they should miss the rain, as will Melbourne.’
Canberra saw its coldest day for 12 years with the maximum temperature just 6.3C on Tuesday.
On Thursday morning, the mercury could drop to as low as -4C in the nation’s capital, with the peak temperature over the weekend just 13C.
The weather forecast is equally bleak for Brisbane, with showers predicted for Thursday and Friday.
Saturday could also see rain of up to 10mm in the Sunshine State.
Perth is tipped to see a rain deluge over the next 72 hours, with wet weather also predicted for early next week.

Those who call Perth home should brace themselves for showers over the next few days, with the weekend to also bring massive ocean swells
In Adelaide, the outlook is somewhat more encouraging, with plenty of clouds – but no downpour.
Saturday and Sunday will see a maximum of 17C in the City of Churches.
Melbourne is also set to escape any rain until Monday – but chilly mornings are expected, with the temperature to be as low as 4C on Friday and Saturday.
Hobart will see maximums of 11C rising to 13C on Saturday, with minimums of just 2C most mornings.
In the Top End, the mercury could rise to as high as 34C on Sunday, with limited cloud cover expected in tropical Darwin.
