The designer of a controversial lingerie set has responded after her work was blasted by more than 50,000 critics – and it seems she’s having the last laugh.
Bras N Things senior buyer Jana is the brains behind the brand’s Hollywood Glam set, a racy two-piece that features a $59.99 cupless bra and $29.99 crotchless briefs which expose almost every inch of the body including the nipples and buttocks.
The provocative design was slated on Facebook for being outrageously unsuitable for anyone except athletes and supermodels, with women joking they would feel like a ‘Christmas ham’ if they ever dared to wear it,
But Jana saw the funny side and defended her creation, revealing it was one of the Australian underwear giant’s best-sellers in 2020.

‘Hahahaha LOL, I’m the actual designer of this lingerie!’ she wrote.
‘It was one of my best sellers last year! I have loved all the entertaining comments and how it’s gone viral. This gold flap flossing lingerie will go down in history now.
‘I design lingerie for EVERYONE and that might be Christmas ham string inspired.’
It comes after a photo of the set sent social media into meltdown when it was posted to Facebook earlier this week, with thousands comparing it to a piece of dental floss and string wrapping for a joint of meat.

‘Can’t wait to approach hubby concealing it under a large dressing gown, ask him if somebody ordered a delivery of roast ham, only to dramatically strip off in front of him and start twerking to ‘down down, prices are down’,’ one woman wrote.
A second had the same thought: ‘As a pregnant woman who has had babies before, I’ve never felt more inclined to look like a Christmas ham…I would eat the underwear just like the crackle eats the cooking rope on the pork.’
One of the most popular comments, which racked up a whopping 12,000 likes, came from a woman who couldn’t believe how lingerie designers could have got it so wrong.
‘Jesus take the wheel…how the hell do you think women are meant to contain 50 plus kilos of fat, flaps and flab in this horrendous get-up?’ she wrote.
‘Also, I really love how you added the earrings to compliment this outfit, cause I’d have felt totally underdressed without them!’

Others compared the ensemble to dental floss and said they winced at the thought of wearing it.
But some saw a practical use for the revealing design.
‘If you can line the hardware hearts up, it would be very handy for breastfeeding,’ one woman wrote.
A representative for the brand quipped back: ‘It could be done!’
A Bras N Things spokesperson told Daily Mail Australia the reaction has been a joy to observe.
‘We have loved the comments and that it has allowed women to express themselves and have some fun with it, as indicated by the sales and interest!’ they said.
‘It’s what our brand is all about – along with our fashionable diverse ranges.’
