Australian cricket captain’s wife Bonnie Paine is mistaken for American folk singer

The wife of Australian cricket captain Tim Paine has been bizarrely mistaken for an American folk singer by Indian media.

Mum-of-two Bonnie Paine often shares happy snaps with her children and wicket keeper husband on Instagram, where she identifies herself as a registered nurse.

The born and bred ‘Tassie girl’ seemingly has her hands full as she juggles motherhood with her husband’s cricket schedule.

But according to reports in India, the multi-talented blonde-haired beauty is also a gifted musician.

‘Australia captain Tim Paine’s beautiful wife Bonnie Paine is a sight to behold for sore eyes,’ an article on india.com reads.

‘She is a musical artist by profession and performs vocals, washboard, stompboard for folk music group – Elephant Revival.’

Another article on India Fantasy reads: ‘Bonnie Paine is an Australian musical celebrity from Hobart and the wife of Australian Test team captain Tim Paine.’

The reports appear to have gotten their wires crossed with an American performer who goes by the same name.

The musician Bonnie Paine was born in Oklahoma, where she grew up playing music with her sisters.

Her website biography says she can play numerous instruments and is a founding member and songwriter of internationally touring folk band Elephant Revival.

‘[She] continues to travel far and wide to learn about music from around the world that inspires her songwriting,’ the musician’s website reads.

It is unknown if the cricket WAG knows about the misleading reports.

According to her Linkedin, Bonnie works part-time as a nurse at Sanctum Medical Aesthetics.

The cosmetic medical practice specialises in a range of treatments including dermal fillers, wrinkle treatments, laser and IPL treatments, skin rejuvenation, body contouring and sclerotherapy for varicose veins.

Bonnie and Paine said ‘I do’ surrounded by friends and family at Home Hill Winery in Tasmania in 2016.

Bonnie gave birth to their first child, Milla Elizabeth, in June 2017.

‘Still can’t believe how perfect she is,’ she wrote on Instagram alongside a picture of Paine and the newborn.

The couple then welcomed ‘pure perfection’, Charlie Thomas in September 2018.

Two weeks ago, Bonnie snapped a selfie with her husband around the end of the Melbourne Test.

She wrote: ‘Devastated that we have to say goodbye to our man today. Bloody Rona. En route back to Hobart far earlier than expected.’

On Tuesday, India secured a 2-1 series win against Australia with a record final-day run chase of 328 at the Gabba in Brisbane, where the hosts hadn’t lost since 1988.

Bonnie is also an ambassador for The Studio HQ, which is ‘more than a gym’.

‘I’m so thrilled to be part of this locally grown, inspiring, motivated business,’ Bonnie’s profile on the fitness centre’s website reads.

‘Initially I signed up to The Studio to get in shape for my wedding… Four years on, and two babies later, I’m still a regular.

‘The Studio has been a big part of my life. I find my sessions to be a little reset and escape from the chaos of everyday life.’
