Australian cricketer Jhye Richardson is engaged to his long-term partner Ashleigh Howart.

The couple, who are believed to have been dating since 2022, shared the happy news to Instagram on Monday.

The Perth Scorchers star, 28, and his new fiancée looked loved up in the image as they sported huge grins while Ashleigh flashed her sparkling diamond ring.

Resting her hand on Jhye’s chest in the photo, the pair were surrounded by a leafy bushland during, what appeared to be, a sunset.

‘Co op mode. Mission: Til death do us part,’ Jhye captioned the image, referencing his passion for video games.

Jyhe’s cricket buddies flocked to the comments to congratulate the happy couple.

Western Australia star Baxter Holt wrote: ‘Love is the best! Congrats you two, I’m absolutely stoked for the two of you!’

Cameron Green added: ‘Congrats guys.’

Indian IPL player Khaleel Ahmed commented, ‘Congratulations,’ alongside two red love heart emojis.

Elsewhere, Australian T20I captain Mitch Marsh said: ‘Congrats guys!’

‘Incredible, Congrats guys,’ emerging star Mahli Beardman wrote.

Ashleigh has stuck by Jhye’s side amid a string of injuries which have plagued the pace bowler’s cricket career.

Including one bizarre moment which unfolded at the Adelaide Oval in November Jhye appeared to suffer an injury as he celebrated claiming a wicket.

At the time, the fast bowler had not featured in WA’s first four games of the Sheffield Shield season following a hamstring injury which kept him sidelined.

Back in 2019, the paceman admitted he had also been left shattered at having to rule himself out of the Cricket World Cup due to a dislocated shoulder.

He underwent surgery on that shoulder injury back in 2020 and subsequently went on to miss the 2023 World Cup due to injury.

In what was a rather sensational return to First Class cricket late last year, Jhye would dismiss Conor McInerney and Daniel Drew in consecutive deliveries.

After clinching the second wicket, the sportsman steamed off towards his team-mates, jubilated by his exploits.

But as he appeared to high-five the group of slips running to celebrate him, he bizarrely seemed to sustain an injury to his shoulder.

He was seen hunkering down and clutching the top of his right arm before leaving the field with a medic.

Thankfully, the WA pace bowler would return to the field to dismiss Thomas Kelly in the 12th over.

At the time, Jhye had played three Tests for Australia, 15 ODIs and 18 T20Is having been awarded a contract by Cricket Australia for the 2024-25 season.
