  • Daly, who has Asperger syndrome, handed a suspended 12-month jail sentence

An 11-year-old girl who was forced to film a couple having sex in a hotel room has said the incident left her feeling ‘disgusted and sick to the stomach’.

Grant Lyndon Daly met the girl and a woman at the Swan Resort, in Burleigh Heads, Queensland, on September 16.

The woman forced the child to film her having sexual intercourse with Daly who says he was too drunk and high on drugs to remember the incident, the Gold Coast Bulletin reported.

Daly, who has a history of drug abuse and Asperger syndrome, was given a suspended 12-month jail sentence.

Defence barrister John Jacob told Southport District Court that Daly was ‘so  intoxicated by alcohol and drugs he has little recall of the events’.

Judge Jennifer Rosengren said there was exceptional circumstances because there was evidence Daly had no idea the child was there.

‘I mean, that doesn’t excuse the conduct, it provides an explanation for it, of course,’ she said.

The judge said the couple were using drugs and the little girl should not have been in the room.

Mr Jacob argued his client has a history of drug offending but not sex crimes.

He added his client could be suffering PTSD after he was hit in the face with a metal bar in a home invasion in 2016.
