A 62-year-old man has been charged after he allegedly imported a childlike sex doll into Australia.

The doll was allegedly recovered from his house in Leeming, about 17km from Perth’s CBD, after officers from the Australian Border Force and Western Australia Police Force executed a search warrant last month.

Officers from the ABF had intercepted the doll at a Perth freight depot on May 16, a day before they raided his house.

Childlike sex dolls are not allowed to be imported into Australia. 

Those trying to import such ‘objectionable goods’ could face up to 10 years in jail and a fine of up to $450,000.

Police said the accused has also been charged with keeping child exploitation material, possessing drug paraphernalia, a prohibited drug and a prohibited plant.

 He accused was produced before the Perth Magistrates Court last week.

‘Commonwealth charges for the importation of the childlike sex doll are likely to follow,’ police said.

Two years ago, the ABF and WA had arrested two men for allegedly attempting to import childlike dolls into the country.
