An Australian man has been arrested in the Philippines over the fatal shooting of another Australian and a Filipina woman in their car.

Michael Justin McLaren, 52, is accused of killing Anthony George Wilson, 61, and Mila Bailey, 41, in Olongapo City, about two-and-a-half hours from Manila, during an attack on Friday.  

McLaren allegedly shot the victims as they travelled in a maroon Mitsubishi Mirage at about 10.30am, local media reported.

Ms Bailey’s husband Wayne was behind the wheel of the car and was shot multiple times.

Filipino police said he is in hospital with serious injuries after managing to crawl from the car and to a nearby hardware store.   

The Bailey’s two-year-old daughter was in the car during the attack but was unscathed. 

McLaren was arrested three hours after the alleged attack with the assistance of CCTV, local police said.   

A spokesman from Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade told Sydney Morning Herald an Australian was the ‘victim of a serious incident’.

‘The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade is providing consular assistance to the family of an Australian, the victim of a serious incident that took place in the Philippines,’ the spokesman said.

‘The Department stands ready to provide consular assistance, in accordance with the Consular Services Charter to others who were involved in the incident. Due to our privacy obligations we will not provide further details.’

Daily Mail Australia has contacted DFAT for comment.
