Australian man who ‘abducted his baby son in Bali after bashing the boy’s mother’ faces court

An Australian man who allegedly kidnapped his own son after assaulting the baby’s mother has faced court in Bali. 

Alistair Larmour has been charged with abduction and assault after he and a friend allegedly took his son Andrew after attacking the 15-month-old’s mother, Agnes Krzysztofowicz, in April, 9News reported. 

If found guilty, he could face 15 years in jail and a $30,000 fine for the alleged abduction and a maximum of two years and eight months for the alleged assault. 

As he left court he refused to comment to reporters.

Ms Krzysztofowicz, known as Anges, said she was distraught and desperate for her son to come home

‘I don’t have anything to say today, you can all go home and enjoy the rest of your day,’ he said.

‘I have nothing further to say. Your questions are a waste of time.’

Ms Krzysztofowicz, from Poland, was locked in a bitter 10-month custody battle with Mr Larmour before the alleged abductrion.

He allegedly took his son Andrew from the boy’s Bali home before announcing in a Facebook video it was ‘the only way’ he would get to see him.

Mr Larmour claimed he has not been able to see his son for nearly a year and taking him was the ‘only option’. He said: ‘I just want to be a father’.

He claimed he had to take the drastic action to get his ex-partner to discuss shared custody after they split in June.

The self-employed spiritual healer and meditation instructor cried in the video where he can be seen holding his his son in his arms.

Shortly after the emergence of the video,  Ms Krzysztofowicz told A Current Affair that there was nothing she could do to stop them from taking her son.  

‘I was chasing the car but not much could be done. In seconds they were gone.’

She also made extensive appeals on social media writing: ‘A small boy of this age needs to be with his mother. If you see Andrew, please help him get back home.”

Ms Krzysztofowicz said she believed he was ‘incapable of taking care of their son’.

On his website, Mr Larmour explains how his life has been ‘fundamentally shaped’ by ongoing battles with ‘schizophrenia and alcoholism’ which resulted in him being homeless by the time he was 25.

He says he has been sober for more than 10 years and previously served as secretary of the Western Australia board of Alcoholics Anonymous.

Andrew was returned to his mother after police arrested Mr Larmour on April 20. 

Mr Larmour will return to court on August 16.
