The dispenser automatically squeezes the right amount of toothpaste directly onto a brush, preventing any wastage or mess.

‘We pretty much had the same problem, then we got this and it changed our lives,’ one mum wrote in a Facebook.

Another suggested: ‘Get a toothpaste dispenser. We recently got one, but before that our toothpastes was always messy.’

Other mums said there are cheaper alternatives on Amazon, including a $16.50 toothpaste dispenser which can dispense a small amount of toothpaste for kids or a larger amount for adults.

'If you wrap a rubber band or hair tie around the white part you push down it stops it from going all the way down meaning less toothpaste comes out,' she said

The dispenser comes after a mum who was sick of wasting toothpaste created a clever system in the bathroom to ensure her daughter only uses a small amount from the tube.

The woman said she squeezed six toothpaste tubes into a soap dispenser for her four-year-old daughter to use – and she was amazed to find the clean up was less messy.

‘Sick of wasting toothpaste and the kid making a mess? Problem solved,’ she wrote in a Facebook group.

It’s an idea that resonated with other mothers in the group, who were eager to test the idea for themselves.

A few were worried that the toothpaste would get dry or be difficult to get out from the bottom but assurances were made that this isn’t the case so long as the twist top lid stays on.
