An Australian politician has called one of Fulham’s former sponsors ‘dodgy as hell’, while questioning his nation’s corporate regulator in Parliament.

Queensland senator James McGrath asked the Australian Securities and Investment Commission (ASIC) to investigate Titan Capital Markets, who were ditched last weekend by Fulham following an investigation by this newspaper.

We revealed that some Titan staff depicted as senior executives in promotional videos and brochures were actors, and one was actually a punk band frontman in real life.

Fulham dramatically terminated one of their newest commercial partnerships following an investigation by the Mail on Sunday

Titan agents also ‘guaranteed’ unrealistic annual profits of ‘at least’ 480 per cent, and falsely claimed all investors were insured against losses upon investing.

Senator McGrath praised The Mail on Sunday’s investigation that led to Fulham cancelling their commercial deal and said he was embarrassed that a ‘dodgy Australian company’ had so easily hoodwinked Fulham.

After this newspaper presented our shocking findings to the club, and asked a series of detailed questions about the partnership, Fulham binned Titan, with a club spokesman stating: ‘The agreement between Fulham and Titan Capital Markets has been terminated.’

Titan, whose nominal HQ is in Canberra, has also recently had it’s website geo-blocked in the UK, the United States and Australia. The company is not regulated in the UK.

The senator noted that Titan were using their Fulham deal to prey on the financially disadvantaged in Africa, after repeatedly invoking their relationship with Fulham in all their marketing materials.

Even including a message sent out in WhatsApp groups to investors and potential investors, claiming ‘TITAN is in partnership with an English Premier League Club named FULHAM FOOTBALL CLUB. No football club will partner with a fake project and they’ve would have run a check to be sure the company is real before allowing the Company sponsor them.’
