Australian Spartan hosts SLAMMED by viewers

They’re the hosts of Channel Seven’s newest sports and entertainment program, Australian Spartan.

And Hamish McLachlan, 42, and Edwina Bartholomew, 34, were slammed by viewers on Twitter during Sunday night’s episode for their poor commentary.

‘Edwina and Hamish both need to shut up, especially with their gasping,’ one commented.

Viewers mercilessly mocked Edwina and Hamish’s presenting, with one in particular Tweeting: ‘The commentary on this show is the worst.’

Another followed suit with: ‘Edwina and Hamish giving a Masterclass in the art of insincere commentary.’

While one in particular mocked Edwina’s lingo, commenting: ‘Edwina is proud of her catchphrase “this is testing every single muscle” and she will use it at literally every opportunity.’

Rehashing: One viewer mocked Edwina for her choice of lingo, Tweeting: 'Edwina is proud of her catchphrase "this is testing every single muscle" and she will use it at literally every opportunity'

Similar complaints were aired from viewers after last week’s premiere episode, with one claiming the pair were ‘about as interesting as cardboard.’   

Edwina and Hamish appear to be hot property at Channel Seven, hosting Australian Spartan off the back of their plum roles covering the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics. 

Social media users poked fun at the fact the hosts now appear to be everywhere, with Sportsbet’s Twitter account sharing a photo of the two accompanied by the caption: ‘We’ve got to catch a quick jet to Korea for the closing ceremonies, then fly back to host every other show Channel 7 has’.

Meanwhile, one Australian Spartan viewer bluntly asked: ‘Is Edwina Bartholomew the only female presenter Channel 7 has?’

Based off the international fitness phenomenon Spartan Race, Australian Spartan is the reality TV series that sees teams put through their paces on an obstacle course.  

10 grand finalists will compete in an extended Spartan course, before going head-to-head in the Grand Final.
