‘Genocide occurred here’: Australian statue celebrating a famous POET is defaced with BLM graffiti on the same day a U.S. cop was found guilty of George Floyd’s murder
Two statues in Brisbane have been defaced with Black Lives Matter graffiti on the same day a U.S. cop was found guilty of George Floyd’s murder.
A monument celebrating Scottish poet Robert Burns in Centenary Place, Fortitude Valley, was graffitied with the word ‘genocide’ following the police officer’s conviction this week.
A tribute dedicated to ‘Scotland’s immortal bard’ has been crossed out with black spray paint and Black Lives Matter has been written on the back of the monument.
