The cast of Dancing With The Stars Australia for 2025 is shaping up as one of the most impressive seasons yet.

And a prominent Australian television veteran will be among those showing off their twinkle toes.

Daily Mail Australia understands that Channel Seven star and respected journalist Michael Usher is set to join the cast.

He will join the four celebrities already announced, including actress Rebecca Gibney.

Rebecca admitted she has turned down offers of reality TV shows on many occasions and accepted Dancing With The Stars after her 60th birthday.

‘I want to say yes more than no,’ she said. ‘I want to do things that frighten and challenge me, and hopefully that will give me a little bit extra longevity.’

Channel Seven’s Chief Content Officer Brook Hall says that the show has been chasing Gibney for some time.

‘She’s probably been asked like 52 times. It must be a timing thing,’ he tells TV Tonight.

‘To grab some of the names we’ve got is a big relief,’ he continued.

‘When you get a Logie Hall of Famer in there, you go, “Ok we’re still hitting some untapped resource.”‘

Also taking part is comedian Shaun Micallef, of Talkin’ ‘Bout Your Generation and Mad as Hell fame.

Former Bachelor star and podcaster Brittany Hockley will likewise be taking part this year.

Boxer Harry Garside is back for another round of reality TV after doing well on I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! Australia in 2023.

He came second on the jungle based show, and is now trying his hand at the dancing contest.

Hosts Sonia Kruger and Dr. Chris Brown are back at the forefront again this year.

Judges Mark Wilson, Craig Revel Horwood, Sharna Burgess and Helen Richey also return.

Last year, Lisa McCune won Dancing With The Stars after a tense finale.

The actress and her professional dance partner Ian Waite walked away with the Mirrorball Tophy.

Lisa was crowned Dancing With The Stars champion and was awarded $20,000 for her chosen charities, the RCD Foundation and the Harrison Reidel Foundation.

With a shiny new Mirrorball Trophy added to her accolades, Lisa joked: ‘It will keep my Logies company.’

The five grand finalists – Samantha Jade, James Stewart, Nikki Osborne, Ant Middleton and Lisa – performed their own expertly crafted freestyle dance in the ultimate ballroom showdown.

Lisa came up trumps, but not before singer Samantha said her farewells as a very worthy runner-up.

Coming in at third place was British star Ant and his dance partner Alexandra Vladimirov.
