An Australian beauty buff has revealed her clever trick for removing faux tan without the need for harsh scrubbing. 

Taking to Facebook, the woman said she used Bondi Sands Self Tan Eraser as well as a kitchen gadget to create an inexpensive tan removal system.

‘To all my tanning friends… Bondi Sands tan remover in one of these little scrubbers takes your tan off in minutes… girls legit (sic) seconds,’ she wrote alongside a photo showing the item filled with product.

The tanning eraser, designed as a cleansing foam, is priced at $19.95, while refillable dish brushes are priced at $4 each from Woolworths.

The woman who shared the savvy hack added the dish brush should be the white, rather than the green variety, as the scourer was softer on the skin.

Her inexpensive method of removing streaks and stains and faded tan is being hailed a ‘game-changer’ by the thousands who’ve seen the post online.

‘Finally, my nights before laser will be easy,’ said one person.

Another said: ‘Such a good idea. No more tiger loaf legs.’

‘Who knew a kitchen scrubber is all we needed,’ said a third.

While many said they were excited to try the hack, a few remained unconvinced the scourer aspect wouldn’t be painful to use on the body.

‘I couldn’t think of anything more painful and damaging to your skin,’ wrote one.

While another added: ‘These things are like cheese graters. No thank you.’

‘I’m so happy to have this now. sometimes I would hold off on tanning because I didn’t want that cracky patchy look as it is coming off but that’s not a problem anymore!’ Said one.

Another said the self tan eraser was now one she considered a ‘holy grail’ product for how effective it was.

‘I usually leave it on for around 10-15 minutes, get in a warm shower and then wash it away with a wash cloth. The tan instantly comes off, and gives you a nice base for the next time you choose to use a tanner.’
