Australia’s east coast woke up to a heavy blanket of fog on Friday morning.
The fog impeded flights in Sydney and Brisbane and caused heavy traffic delays because of the low visibility.

Some flights set to land in Brisbane have been diverted to Melbourne and the Gold Coast, with a user on twitter saying, ‘Qantas QF52 from Singapore to Brisbane (A330 VH-EBR) has just diverted to Melbourne due to fog’.

The Bureau of Meteorology said that the visibility at Brisbane Airport and in the heart of the city was as low as 20 metres, but was beginning to clear later this morning.
Drivers are warned to drive slower than normal until the fog clears later today and Queensland Police are urging those on the roads to take extra care.
The temperature is set to rise throughout the day, which will cause the fog to lift and the skies to clear.
Melbourne was slightly affected by the hazy fog on Friday.
The city saw massive flight delays and chaos on the roads on Thursday because of intense fog.
