Australians looking for quick relief from the scorching heat and crowds at local swimming centres can now rent a private pool for a dip. 

The new pool sharing app Swimply launched on Tuesday and is available for NSW, Queensland and Victoria residents. 

Dubbed as the Airbnb For Pools, the app allows users to search for a pool and rent it for an hour, while allowing the swimming pool owners to earn a bit of extra cash.

‘Every Australian can enjoy affordable access to this summertime luxury,’ the 22-year-old explained. 

‘With the country’s long summers we are excited to be able to democratise the pool experience while at the same time, help pool owners earn some extra cash.’ 

Mr Laksim – the eldest of 12 children – says the idea for Swimply came to him on a hot summer day. 

Hosts who are looking to share their pool have the flexibility to choose which days and times their facilities are available and at what cost. 

There is a price guide ranging from $25 an hour, $50 an hour or $75 an hour depending on the facilities available. 

They can also choose if they want children on the property, how many guests can be invited and if they’re allowed to bring food.

Swimply personally inspects each swimming pool to ensure it meets safety regulations. 

To celebrate the launch of Swimply, a 20 per cent discount is available for first-time users.
