They say age is just a number, but there’s no one quite embodying that saying like Robyn Canner.

The 60-year-old from Sydney not only won the grand title of Ms World 2018, but she was also recently selected to model at New York Fashion Week this February.

Sitting down with FEMAIL following her Big Apple catwalk debut, beauty therapist Robyn shared how she’s been prepping for the big day – and her skin and make up secrets.

'To be one of the oldest to walk shows that age truly is no barrier and anything can be achieved at any stage of life,' Robyn (pictured) said

Robyn said she came to modelling after the tragic loss of her son at just 22 years old.

‘After I lost Scottie I hit a nosedive, nothing seemed to be going right and life just seemed to collide with everything else,’ Robyn previously recalled.

‘I found pageantry and it gave me the confidence and the structure to get up and keep going. I didn’t think four years later I would be winning the Ms World title.’

Now, Robyn is taking even greater strides in her career.

‘To be walking New York Fashion Week at just 60 is just fantastic,’ Robyn told FEMAIL.

‘I love Lactic Peels to keep my skin looking supple, Caviar and Vitamin C serums, as well as collagen and gold masks with LED light,’ she said.

‘I have a lot of this at home and regularly use them along with a great cleanse and moisturise daily routine.’

While she said she doesn’t always ‘take my make up off at night’, the 60-year-old does swear by a ‘good base routine’ to ensure her complexion is glowing.

Robyn is set to walk the catwalks for a yet-to-be-released designer with models a third of her age.

‘At 60 it feels great to be given this opportunity,’ she said. ‘While it was never on my radar to model in New York, I’m excited to be given this opportunity.’

She also insists it’s not a publicity stunt, but rather the proof that fashion isn’t something purely reserved for the young.

‘Fashion is turning more now than ever to the older woman as age now has no importance to design and elegance and the older model on the runways such as New York certainly brings fashion forward.’

She said she has been modelling since 16, but didn’t realise her career would last as long as it has.

‘I’m not nervous at all,’ she added. ‘Hopefully the younger models can learn from me and I can learn from them.’
