Award-winning actress Nanette Fabray dies at age 97

Award-winning actress Nanette Fabray passed away at age 97 on Thursday, in her Palos Verdes home, according to The New York Times.

The 97-year-old is best known for roles on and off stage in the 1940s and 50s.

Nanette’s death was confirmed by her son Dr. Jamie MacDougall.

Nanette was also born in San Diego, California, but her parents moved to Los Angeles so their daughter could start her acting career at a young age. 

The Mary Tyler Moore Show alum first claimed recognition when she won a Tony Award at age 28 for her performance in the on-stage show Love Life.

Nanette created her own show called, Westinghouse Playhouse, but the show only lasted for one season in 1961.

Her most recent work to date is her performance in The Damsel Dialogues, which she preformed at the Whitefire Theatre in Sherman Oaks, California.

Nanette was married to Vice President of NBC, David Tebet, but the couple got divorced in 1951.

She later went on to marry screenwriter Ranald MacDougal, until he passed away in 1973.

Nanette leaves behind her only son Jamie.
