Baby Archie’s private christening will not reveal who the godparents are sparking furious row

Now Meghan and Harry say Archie’s Godparents will remain SECRET after his private Christening on Saturday despite row over taxpayers paying to do up their home

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have said they will not be revealing the godparents of baby Archie after his private christening this weekend.

There was fury when the Palace revealed the newest Royal would be having a private christening, following news the taxpayer had unknowingly forked out £2.4million for renovations at their new home Frogmore Cottage. 

But they have now revealed they will not be making Archie’s godparents public after the ceremony at Windsor Castle on Saturday. 

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have said they will not be revealing the godparents of baby Archie after his private christening this weekend 

A royal announcement this afternoon confirmed the service will be presided over by the Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby.

It also said the royal couple ‘look forward to sharing some images taken on the day by photographer Chris Allerton’ but the ‘godparents, in keeping with their wishes, will remain private’. 

There has been huge speculation over who Harry and Meghan have chosen to be their firstborn’s godparents, with their decision likely to disappoint thousands of their fans.
