A mother whose baby daughter was born with a full head of hair left hospital staff were stunned by her newborn’s impressive brunette mop.
Savannah Looney, 25, from Florida, gave birth to daughter Mila, in September last year and was shocked to see her baby had already grown a head of thick brown locks.
Interior designer Savannah says Mila, now eight months, was born with the most hair her midwife had ever seen and that doctors were visiting her ward to see her baby’s mop.
While Savannah herself didn’t have much hair when she was born, her husband Anthony, 37, had identical hair to Mila as an infant.

At eight months, Savannah says Mila’s thick brown hair always gets amazing reactions from strangers when they’re out and about
‘My midwife had been working for 30 years and she’d never seen as much hair as Mila’s.
‘After she was born she kept bringing the doctors in to show them her hair, they were pretty amazed. Her hair was a huge surprise for us because we never saw any hair on her scans.
‘While I was pregnant all my friends said they couldn’t wait to see her hair, because of mine and Anthony’s. I always said, she’ll probably be bald, but of course I was wrong.’
Savannah dismissed the old wives tale that pregnant women who suffer heartburn are likely to give birth to a hairy baby, insisting: ‘I never had any heartburn, so that’s definitely a myth!’

Savannah struggles to wash Mila’s hair when bath time arrives because her baby is so young she often tilts her head the wrong way
Today, Savannah tries her best to style Mila’s hair, but it sometimes has a mind of it’s own.
She said: ‘Some people get bed head, but Mila gets stroller head. People make fun of her all the time because when she comes out the stroller she looks crazy.
‘I usually put it in a little ponytail or I use a small bow in her hair to style it.’
Savannah also struggles to wash Mila’s hair when bath time arrives.
She said: ‘It’s so hard to wash because she’s still so young. Trying to convince her to tip her head the right way so I can rinse the shampoo out is impossible, she’s just having a good time.

Mila, pictured at the beach with her parents, has only had one haircut since she was born and currently has around six inches of hair
‘It’s also super curly when it’s wet, which is so sweet.’
Savannah says Mila’s hair always gets amazing reactions from strangers when they’re out and about.
She said: ‘I can’t go to the store with her because it takes 45 minutes longer when she’s with me. Everybody wants to stop me and talk about her hair and cute she looks.
‘She had about an inch of hair when she was born and now it’s probably about six inches. I’m going to take her to get it cut soon.’
