Little Elijah, two months old, was feared dead after 25-year-old Kyshaun Wilson allegedly stole him from his home in the early hours on Monday morning, while the child’s mom was preparing his bottle.

Wilson headed down the Highway 371 in Louisiana and left the child underneath the I-20 overpass at Exit 47 at Sibley, police say, before he hitched a ride to Shreveport,KSLA reports.

When he arrived, he confessed what he’d done to Demarco Lewis, a homeless man who immediately called the cops.

‘I’m just glad I was there that morning as a vessel to make sure things panned out,’ Lewis said.

Shreveport police arrested Wilson who initially denied all knowledge of the missing child.

But he eventually confessed and revealed where he’d left Elijah.

When asked why he’d done it, Wilson told the police that ‘God had to him to.’

Police were able to locate the two-year-old balanced on a concrete ledge beneath the overpass, at 7am this morning.

The boy was wrapped up in a blanket and and seemingly unhurt by the experience aside from a scratch on his knee.

‘Scariest thing about it if he were able to roll off that ledge, he would have hit that concrete retaining ledge and probably would have rolled right out into the interstate,’ Minden Police Chief Steve Cropper said.

The child was taken to a local hospital to be checked by medical professionals before being returned to his very grateful mother who hugged Cropper after he returned her baby.

Meanwhile, Wilson – the boy’s uncle – was arrested and is being held in the Webster Parish Jail in Minden on a charge of aggravated kidnapping.
