Baby showers are a time for expectant mothers to celebrate, but one woman has caused a stir online with her disturbingly graphic celebration cake.

A woman, believed to be from the US shared an image of the unique cake to the Facebook group That’s it, I’m cake shaming, and didn’t feel a caption was necessary.

The unusual baked creation left several users confused about the clear gelatin center of the cake, which revealed a small figurine of an unborn child. 

While some users simply shared gifs and emoji’s to share their disgust, others raged that it was the ‘most horrible cake’ they had ever seen. 

‘That’s haunting my dreams tonight’, one wrote. 

‘Just… NO. That is the most horrible cake I have ever seen,’ said another’.

A third raged: ‘I have no words for this monstrosity.’ 

One more disturbed user said: ‘Well, if I didn’t want kids before. I definitely don’t want them now.’ 

The cake featured a pair of breasts draped in a jumper and pearl necklace, a flower corsage and lashings of yellow icing. 

But the feature that drew the most attention from users was the clear edible stomach – made to depict the amniotic fluid.

One baffled user wrote: ‘I can’t help but wonder if they kept it chilled or if upon cutting there was amniotic fluid oozing’. 

Another said: ‘These cakes with gelatin make me queasy. Make it stop.’ 

 ‘Hmmm. Do I want to ask what the “placenta” is made of?’ commented another.
