Bachelor contestant is SLAMMED for mocking fellow star’s ADHD

Bachelor fans are furious with a contestant who mocked one of her competitors for having a mental disorder – prompting outcry from viewers who have branded her an ‘ableist bully’.

On Monday night, Bachelor contestant Elizabeth Corrigan, 32, tried to clear up some drama with fellow contestant Shanae Ankney, 29, by confiding that she has ADHD.

But rather than show understanding or be sympathetic, Shanae, from Ohio, weaponized the confession, shared it with the other women on the show, and made fun of Colorado-based real estate agent Elizabeth.

In the new episode, Elizabeth was seen getting close to this season’s Bachelor, Clayton Echard — which made fellow contestant Shanae jealous.

So Shanae told Clayton that Elizabeth was ‘two-faced,’ insisting that she was friendly one day but ignoring her during a group conversation the next.

After Elizabeth got wind of this, she tried to clear the air during a one-on-one with Shanae, during which she confessed that she had ADHA — which is why she may have unintentionally ignored her.

‘So I want to expose something about myself,’ Elizabeth said. ‘It’s really hard for me to have multiple auditory inputs because I can’t process the information. I have ADHD. I’ve had it really bad since I was a kid.

‘Like, I was probably just really trying to concentrate on what Ency was trying to say to me, and maybe you had said something in the middle of her saying something and I just, I can’t, like, hear it.’

After the confession, Shanae revealed Elizabeth's diagnosis to the other women in the house and called it 'fake'

Shanae snapped at her: 'Well, I'm just saying, like, I have ADHD too. So, I'm not sure if anyone has heard, but she has ADHD, and it's really bad'

After the conversation, Shanae revealed Elizabeth’s diagnosis to the other women in the house.

She also accused Elizabeth of being ‘fake, fake, fake,’ adding: ‘ADHD, my a**. 100 percent.’

Shanae continued to be rude about it the following night.

‘I think this is really inappropriate,’ Elizabeth told her . ‘I really don’t appreciate how you’re coming at me, and if you’d like to apologize to me, I’ll do so, but unfortunately, I’m not gonna engage in this conversation with you anymore.’

Shanae snapped back: ‘Well, I’m just saying, like, I have ADHD too. So, I’m not sure if anyone has heard, but she has ADHD, and it’s really bad.’

Viewers are shocked by Shanae’s behavior, accusing her of being a bully and insisting that what she did was ‘disgusting,’ ‘abelist,’ ‘harmful,’ ‘triggering, ‘gross,’ and ‘horrible.’

‘Mocking ADHD is NOT funny abc. It’s called bullying,’ wrote one Twitter user.

‘It breaks my heart to see ADHD being dragged like this. Adult women deal with this every day. I do, this isn’t something to be laughed at Shanae. Shame on you. I’m sorry you were violated Elizabeth,’ said another.

‘Now when I tell you I *yelled* at my TV during this — and zero remorse from Shanae to boot — extremely not ok and she (and any comments like this in general) gotta GO,’ wrote a third.

‘The audacity of Shanae to shame Elizabeth for having ADHD. This shouldn’t be allowed at all. Mental health is no joke!’ tweeted a fourth.

‘I can’t wait to read Shanae’s *very sincere* notes app apology to the ADHD community,’ another critic chimed in.

‘Shanae mocking and attempting to weaponize Elizabeth’s ADHD is atrocious. Like I’m literally nauseous,’ tweeted yet another.

One more wrote: ‘shanae handwaving elizabeth’s adhd is a problem because, as a society, people often use “omg i’m SO adhd/add” as an excuse and it can minimize the legitimacy of those neurodevelopmental disorders. stop dismissing it. also educate yourselves.

‘Elizabeth wasn’t telling shanae she has ADHD as a sob story, she was trying to explain her behavior which shanae interpreted as “rude.” this is so inappropriate what,’ added another fan.

Several people pointed out that Shanae was not just being cruel to Elizabeth, but was hurting all viewers with ADHD.

‘Shanae is out here offending everyone who has struggled with adhd,’ wrote one.

‘Really hard to see a girl making fun of another girl for having a disability that I have (#ADHD) on the #Bachelor tonight. It’s a hard thing to explain to people and being outed like that to everyone must have been so upsetting,’ said another.
