Bachelor Nation’s Grant Kemp became engaged to his girlfriend Chloe Metcalfe, during a trip to Santorini, Greece that took place late last month.

The news about the 33-year-old reality television personality was revealed by PEOPLE and the happy couple sat down for an interview where they spoke about the proposal and their plans for the future.

The media figure was previously featured on The Bachelorette’s twelfth season, during which he competed for the affection of the season’s lead, JoJo Fletcher.

Kemp also appeared on Bachelor in Paradise’s third season, and although he became engaged to contestant Lace Morris, they split up after two months.

The reality television personality eventually moved on with Metcalfe, whom he met this past April.

The firefighter told the outlet that, although he had always intended to pop the big question during the trip to Santorini, he found a convenient way to throw off any suspicion from Metcalfe.

He recalled: ‘I was already planned, but I kind of wanted to throw her off a little bit by saying it was a birthday trip.’

Kemp then expressed that although he had made plans for a lavish dinner following the proposal, he and his now-fiancee headed back to their temporary residence.

He stated: ‘After the photo shoot…and after I proposed, we were both super tired and we just ended up ordering pizza!’

The reality television personality remarked that he was ‘very confident that she was going to say yes.’

Metcalfe went on to express that she was particularly impressed by Kemp’s proposal.

‘I was like, if he doesn’t do this in Greece, I’d be like, when would be a better time? So I’m really glad it went the way that it did,’ she said.  

The social media personalty went on to state that her now-fiance ‘definitely threw me off a little bit…he surprised me at the end and it was really good.’

Metcalfe made a point of stating that Kemp ‘nailed’ the proposal.

She also spoke about her engagement ring and commented that she was particularly impressed by the piece of jewelry.

‘I’m not used to wearing any nice jewelry, so I’m constantly just looking at it like, making sure it’s still there,’ she said.

Kemp went on to speak about how he encountered his now-fiancee, stating: ‘We met at one of my friend’s music video shoots.’

He also recalled that ‘she just sent the flyer so that she could meet me, which I thought was actually adorable.’

The reality television personality then discussed his plans for the future wedding ceremony.’

He said: ‘We want to do it in like a year. We want to have a location that’s easy for friends and family to get to.’

Kemp then expressed that he and Metcalfe were looking to start a family in the coming years. 

‘We definitely want to have kids at some point. Probably within the next like five years, four years, I would say…but it’s just about kind of lining everything up,’ he said.
