After the high-drama finale saw The Bachelor star Arie Luyendyk Jr. controversially rescind his proposal from one woman to give it to another, plenty of viewers have been none to pleased with him.
But if they needed one more thing about Arie to cause them to cringe, look no further than a new kissing montage released by comedian Joel McHale, who put together clips of The Bachelor’s sauciest moments from this past season.
The comedian shared the clip on his Netflix show, prefacing it by claiming himself to be ‘a naturalized citizen of Bachelor Nation’.
Poking fun: Netflix’s The Joel McHale Show poked fun at Bachelor winner Arie Luyendyk Jr. for creepily moaning when he kisses
Ruffling feathers: Arie has come under fire after breaking off his engagement with previous winner Becca Kufrin to be with runner-up Lauren Burnham (pictured)
Drama drama: Joel shared a long montage of kissing scenes from the show to demonstrate why Becca is ‘better off’
Oh dear: The comedian noted that the world, and Becca, are both better off not having to listen to Arie’s ‘moan-kissing’ ever again, joking about the groan The Bachelor makes when he kisses
Reputation: It isn’t the first time that Arie’s kissing habits have come into the spotlight. He was previously dubbed the ‘Kissing Bandit’ for his makeout skills while on The Bachelorette
‘I also felt the sting of Arie’s betrayal for his first fiancée, Becca K., in order to be with the runner-up,’ he said.
‘Everyone agrees that Becca is better off now as the newly crowned Bachelorette, but I think she wins an even bigger category: never having to listen to Arie moan-kiss ever again.’
This is followed by a full, excruciating 30 seconds of cuts featuring Arie kissing various women, emitting a low moan every single time.
Among the women he is smooching in the clip are runner-up-come-winner Becca Kufrin, Sienne Fleming, Bekah Martinez, Kendall Long and new fiancé Lauren Burnham. Each kiss is also supplemented with plenty of wet smacking sounds.
As the clip moves from shot-to-shot the live audience can’t help but emit their own tortured groans.
A little uncomfortable: Joel, and the rest of the audience, can’t hide their disgusted groans
Getting around: The 30-second clip shows Arie kissing a number of women from the show
Joel jokes that the reason behind Arie’s noisy kissing habits is that its the sound he makes ‘when I’m trying to remember someone’s name.’
‘Mmm, you kiss great…buddy!’ he says.
It isn’t the first time that Arie’s kissing habits have come into the spotlight. He was previously dubbed the ‘Kissing Bandit’ for his makeout skills while on Emily Maynard’s season of the Bachelorette.
Arie and runner-up-turned-fiancee Lauren are currently enjoying a post-show tour of Iceland, posting plenty of loved up photos as they drive around the coast of the picturesque island.
‘Posted this because I sent this to my mom and she said she’s never seen me happier,’ Arie wrote in the caption for one photo of him and Lauren in front of a waterfall.
‘So much beauty here in Iceland including this one.’
Another pick: The finale was much-maligned by viewers who thought Arie’s decision to dump Becca for Lauren were cruel
Not a care in the world: The couple are currently touring Iceland together, sharing plenty of loved-up photos
However, if the couple thought that their seemingly-innocent selfies were going to be free from criticism, they were wrong; in fact they have faced nearly as much controversy as Arie’s so-called ‘moan-kisses’.
On Monday the racecar driver’s fiance Lauren shared a photo of the pair looking loved up at the opening race of the IndyCar season in Saint Petersburg, Florida.
And almost immediately, eagle-eyed observer Reality Steve pointed out the photo’s uncanny resemblance to a snap Arie took with his ex-girlfriend Sydney Stempfley just last June 2017.
Both photos show the salt-and-pepper suitor on the right side of a smiling blonde and posed in front of a racecar, with both ladies clad in the same red Honda racing garb.
Sydney captioned her photo, which was taken just months before Arie was announced as The Bachelor in September at Detroit’s Belle Isle race track, writing: ‘My actual ride or die.’
In her image Lauren said of the race that it was ‘one of the top 5 coolest things I’ve ever done,’ adding ‘thanks for the rides’ to fiance Arie and famous racer Mario Andretti.
