The Backstreet Boys, the best-selling boy band of all time, delivered their bevy of hits when they hit the stage at day one of the iHeartRadio Music Festival at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Friday.
In a nod of thanks and humility, the group took time out to recognize the importance iHeart Media has played in their resurgence since they played the festival with Florida Georgia Line in 2016.
The spirited performance comes amid lead vocalist Nick Carter’s ongoing family drama and Twitter feud with younger brother Aaron Carter that includes allegations of harassment, assault and a reported murder threat.

For the gig, the guys kept things color-coordinated, like most shows, in black and white ensembles.
Howie Dorough and Brian Littrell went with white pants and black jackets; Nick stood out in the center of the group in all black; AJ McLean wore white pants with a white jacket and a black t-shirt and hat; while Kevin Richardson donned a long white blazer with black ants and t-shirt.
‘Three years ago, right here on the iHeart stage in Vegas, we made a surprise appearance with our friends Florida Georgia Line,’ the guys said during a break in-between songs at the festival as reported by iheart.com.
‘Ever since that moment we’ve been on quite a ride as a singing group, as pop artists, as performers. And I feel like that that performance was kind of a jumping off point for the Backstreet Boys. Kind of a renaissance has occurred since then.’
The Florida natives have sold over 100 million records worldwide since they broke out with their self-title debut album in 1996.

Scary accusations: Lead vocalist Nick filed a restraining order earlier this week claiming that his younger brother Aaron is a danger to the family
With his career fledgling again, lead vocalist Nick has also been marred with that family drama involving brother Aaron that has most recently stepped up a notch on social media.
All this give-and-take for all to see has culminated in Nick seeking a restraining order against his younger brother, which was followed up by Aaron’s twin sister Angel Carter filing a domestic violence restraining order against him Friday morning.
In documents obtained by TMZ, the I Want Candy singer allegedly told Angel ‘I have people that would come and harm you’ during a September 5 conversation.
A judge has reportedly approved the legal order of protection, according to TMZ.
Their take: Nick reportedly told his Angel that Aaron fantasized about killing babies and Nick’s pregnant wife, while he alleged that Aaron told Angel on Aug. 7: ‘I want to tell you something that I never told you before. I was diagnosed with schizophrenia and bipolar 2 years ago.’
