A winery has come under fire for setting up body sizing gates labelling people with terms like ‘fit-looking’, ‘overweight’ and ‘big-boned’.

The ‘stature challenge gates’ were spotted in the carpark of Badgers Brook Estate Winery in the Yarra Valley, Victoria, over the weekend.

The pink gates feature different sizes, with the smallest slot labelled ‘congratulations’ and the widest slot labelled ‘big-boned body’.

The other sizes included ‘chubby’, ‘plump’ and ‘standard’.

Patron Shannyn Tucker shared a picture on Facebook of the gates after she was left in disbelief when visited the winery on Sunday.

‘I’m sorry but this is actually disgusting. I don’t understand how this acceptable in this era. This type of behaviour sets bad body image issues,’ she said.

‘It shouldn’t be okay to make anyone of any age feel uncomfortable for not fitting through an “ideal” space.’

Ms Tucker told 3AW earlier this week: ‘I couldn’t even fit my leg through the “congratulations” one, so I don’t know how anyone would be able to fit through it.’

‘We did not understand that this would be offensive, however now we understand why it is inappropriate and have removed it.’
