Bam Margera says he’s ‘disappointed’ by estranged wife Nikki’s comments following her legal separation filing: ‘No one knows my side of the story’
Bam Margera took to social media to push back after his estranged wife filed for a formal separation papers recently.
The 43-yesar-old Jackass star, whose friend Steve-O has publicly spoken about his concerns for Margera’s health and safety, shared a photo of himself, his wife Nikki Boyd, 38 and their son Phoenix, now five, on Instagram from a happier time.
‘I am very disappointed about what Nikki and her lawyer have said about me publicly as a father. I love my son more than anything in this world,’ Margera wrote.
‘I have in fact been supporting my son. No one knows my side of the story which makes me sad. But hopefully one day they will.’
Boyd filed for a legal separation from the embattled star on February 14 after nine years of marriage.

She listed the date of separation as September 2021, reportedly citing irreconcilable differences.
In a statement to People, her attorney David Glass wrote, ‘Nikki Margera felt compelled to file for legal separation from her husband, Bam Margera, due to his continuing drug and alcohol abuse, erratic behavior and due to his failure to provide support for her and their son.’
‘Nikki has put everything she has into trying to get Bam to stay sober, and to trying to preserve her family.’
Boyd has asked for legal and physical custody of Phoenix, with Margera allowed supervised visits on condition they happen in LA County provided he pays the expenses.
She is also said to be seeking spousal support.
Margera has been in and out of rehab several times prior to his estranged wife filing papers, and many of his fans, who have followed his career and antics for years, served up some tough love to his Instagram post.
One wrote a lengthy statement which included, ‘Stop pointing the finger at everyone else for your own conduct. It will not help you long term, Bam. You need to take responsibility to become the man you can be.’
Another followed suit with the following admonishing him to ‘Choose sobriety and choose to work the steps that will help you to maintain it for yourself first, and for your son. (if being a present, loving father is what you want)’

Hope: Fans seemed hopeful he was getting help after the Jackass 4.5 writer posted this photo with the cryptic message, ”I want to thank everyone, I lost f**kin 55 pounds and I remember who I am, I am home❤️’
‘The dude says nobody knows his side,’ commented one longtime fan. ‘Well, when you’re constantly breaking out of rehab to go drink, on video drunk as a dog…. you’re telling your side.’
In a cryptic message posted early Sunday morning, it seemed the Viva La Bam star may have taken the messages to heart.
He shared a photo of himself at the end of a mediaeval journey writing, ‘I want to thank everyone, I lost f**kin 55 pounds and I remember who I am, I am home❤️’
Some hopeful fans shared their own stories, including, ‘Bro I’m almost three years sober. Alcohol was ruining my life. Getting sober was the best thing that ever happened to me. If I can do it you can too buddy. Good luck.’
