‘Bankrupt’ influencer Christie Swadling is caught FaceTiming stepson while driving
Christie Swadling was recently caught using the FaceTime app on her mobile phone while driving.
The ‘bankrupt’ influencer, 27, who had to write-off her last luxury car, shared a clip of her call with stepson Kaden which showed her operating a vehicle at the time.
It was re-shared to Instagram watchdog account Dutch Minty on Monday in a post which noted the fitness guru’s misuse of a mobile while driving.
In the video, Christie was video calling her fiancé Joel Price’s son as he set up and managed a ‘lollie stand’ on the side of the road at his mother’s house.
At the bottom right of the screen, Christie could be seen driving her car as she looked from the camera to the road.

She originally posted the video to her own Instagram stories, writing: ‘Kaden’s at his mum’s and FaceTiming me to show me his lollie stand. I legit can’t with this kid, such a hustler. He sells s**t on my Facebook market account too.’
According to the New South Wales state laws, where Christie currently lives, a driver may receive an audio phone call while operating their vehicle under certain conditions.
The mobile device must be secured to a cradle fixed to the car and can only be used if the driver isn’t required to touch any part of the phone.

All other functions including video calling, texting, emailing, social media, web browsing and photography are prohibited unless parked.
Since Christie was video calling her step-son rather than receiving an audio call, her use of the mobile device while driving could be considered illegal under NSW law.
According to the NSW transport department, the fine for illegal mobile phone use in NSW is $362, or $481 if detected in a school zone.

There is a five demerit point penalty for illegal mobile phone use, which increases to 10 demerit points during double demerit periods.
Daily Mail Australia has reached out for comment.
It comes after Christie revealed in February she was forced to write-off her prior luxury car last year.
‘To those who don’t know, I wrote my car off in the city a few months back… but my new car arrives next month,’ she said in an Instagram Q&A at the time.
While she provided no details on what happened to her last vehicle, Christie did reveal she bought a new 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander to replace her old car.
