More financial woes for Katie Price: Now court orders her to pay ex-husband Alex Reid £140,000 in legal fees after she allegedly shared with studio audience sex tape footage of him

  • Price not represented in court after having been declared bankrupt yesterday
  • Accused of showing tape off camera on Celebrity Big Brother’s Bit On The Side
  • Glamour model previously claimed the footage had been taken from YouTube

Bankrupt Katie Price was today facing fresh financial woes after she was ordered to pay her ex-husband Alex Reid £140,000 in legal fees after allegedly showing sex tape footage of him to a studio audience.

The former glamour model, 41, was also handed a five-year injunction preventing her from sharing any private information about their relationship.

It is the latest blow for Price after she was declared bankrupt yesterday after failing to pay £800,000 worth of debts. She did not appear in court and was not represented by a lawyer.

Mr Reid, a former cage fighter, is now believed to be among a list of creditors waiting to be paid after Price’s bankruptcy, according to The Sun.

Making the order, Queen’s Bench Master Richard Davison said: ‘Plainly you can’t enforce this in the normal way.’

Mr Reid had claimed Price showed the sex tape to 40 people off camera on Celebrity Big Brother’s Bit On The Side last January.

Price had argued that the footage was from YouTube. However, in 2018 she was made subject to an injunction preventing her from sharing it again.

The case was set for trial in March 2020, but Price ‘stopped engaging’ with lawyers several months ago, according to Patrick Harrington QC, representing Reid.

She could face further legal costs and damages when the case returns to the High Court on March 9.

The Loose Women panelist had been pursued by creditors and the taxman after revealing she has spent her entire £45million fortune.

Yesterday’s bankruptcy ruling means a trustee could now be appointed to sell off her assets, including her £2million nine-bedroom home in West Sussex.

Price, who has been married three times and has five children, is believed to have debts of £800,000, and has been failing to pay £12,000 a month to her creditors.

She is said to be £100,000 in arrears on mortgage repayments on the home which she allegedly spends £2,000 a month heating by leaving it on all the time.

Price is also believed to have spent £120,000 on housekeepers, gardeners and nannies – and around £25,000 a year on plastic surgery.

She also spends £1,500 a week on manicures and pedicures, £1,000 on hair appointments and £800 on massages every other day, reported the Daily Mirror.

Price used to be able to fund her lifestyle through modelling, reality TV shows and fragrances when she was at the height of her fame in the 1990s and 2000s.

But her only regular sources of income nowadays appear to be her Quest Red TV show My Crazy Life and plugging weight loss products on her Instagram account.
