Bathtub tragedy as a little boy drowns at home – just days after another child slipped silently underwater at a public pool and died

A child under the age of 10 has tragically drowned in a bathtub just days after another young person died at a public pool.

Ambulance crews were called to Banksia Park, 20km north of Adelaide around 5.50pm on Monday responding to reports a young boy had drowned.

A SA Police spokesperson  said the death has been deemed ‘non-suspicious’.

A report will now be prepared for the coroner.

The death comes as just days earlier a nine-year-old boy drowned at Waikerie Swimming Pool.

The boy slipped silently beneath the water at the pool in South Australia’s Riverland region at 3.30pm on Saturday.

Emergency services were called to the scene and paramedics attempted to revive the boy before he was rushed to Waikerie Hospital where he died.
