Mowing the lawn can be a bad enough job.

But it was made even worse for Adelaide man Ben Fitzsimons when he felt something tickle his leg.

Mr Fitzsimons was mowing his lawn on Wednesday when he felt a spider crawl onto his foot.

He took to Twitter to post a picture of the terrifying huntsman on his ankle

‘Mowing the lawn and felt something tickle my leg… G’Day mate,’ he posted alongside the picture.

The post quickly attracted a number of comments. 

‘Please tell me you were mowing the lawn in some South American jungle,’ wrote on user.

But many were quick to condemn Mr Fitzsimons for moving the lawn barefoot.

‘I’m more worried that you are mowing in bare feet than that a spider is climbing up your leg,’ said one Twitter user.
