The Living Room host Barry Du Bois, 57, has revealed his cancer has returned for a second time.

Barry, who was first diagnosed with plasmacytoma myeloma in 2010, made the heartbreaking announcement this Friday during a segment on Channel 10’s  The Living Room. 

During the interview, the R U OK ambassador revealed that his cancer is much more aggressive than his previous diagnosis six years ago but remained optimistic that he would beat his battle against the debilitating disease once again.

‘In the medical world, I am on the exit off the freeway, there is no doubt about that,’ he told the panel.

‘I have always backed myself and I will back myself on this and I will have the support to win it.’

Following up his emotional address, Barry then shared a heartfelt Instagram post pictured alongside his Living Room counterparts, thanking those who have given their unbridled support to the Channel Ten presenter.

‘The Living Room means more to me than most things on Earth, and it means an incredible amount to be loved by so many people,’ he captioned.

‘It means the world to me. I am going into this battle with the love, support and encouragement of my friends and family, and all of you. I’m going to beat what I have got, and hopefully inspire others to do so too.’

In an interview with Confidential on Friday, Barry elaborated on the topic of his positive attitude, saying that he chooses to focuses on the importance of family, and inspiring others around him that may be going through the same ordeal. 

‘What I have learnt is that you can’t control everything in life,’ he told the publication.

‘I have a situation, I am going to make the most of that situation, and I am going to win this battle.’

‘I am going to beat this and I want to inspire others in similar situations and for people to learn from my journey.’

In 2010, Barry was diagnosed with plasmacytoma myeloma a cancer that attacks a human’s healthy bone marrow.

He has now begun a round of chemotherapy which will last until Christmas, before receiving a stem cell transplant and bone marrow retrieval. 

Barry is married to his partner Leonie, and is father to their five-year-old twins Arabella and Bennet.
