She has been brightening viewers’ mornings as a BBC weather presenter since 1998.

And Carol Kirkwood stunned viewers with her youthful complexion, after a stunning throwback snap appeared on the Breakfast show.

The Scottish weather presenter, 59, was surprised by BBC Breakfast co-star Dan Walker with a photo of herself taken when she was in her twenties.

After she presented the weather in 2016, 44-year-old Dan said: ‘This morning, we’ve been asking people to send in their photos of them from the 80s.’

The image of Carol in pearl earrings and a red polka dot hairband then appeared on the screen.

In the throwback photo, her brunette tresses were tied back and she wore make-up with pink lipgloss.

Dan said: ‘You look like a movie star, Carol. There’s a lot going on in those eyes there, Carol, I like that – a lot.’

Carol said: ‘Check out the wallpaper [and those] big chops, look at those big chops.’

Louise Minchin, 53, added: ‘You look amazing. Look at those sparkling eyes, you look fabulous!’

Last year, Carol was dragged to the floor by a guide dog during a live weather report.

She ended up being taken out by the excitable hound leaving her co-presenter Dan in hysterics back in the studio. 

Carol had just given the forecast from Chelsea ahead of the annual Flower Show when the golden Labrador named Flash tugged at the lead and toppled her over.
