BBC cancel HUGE reality show after just four series as channel has a major production shake up
The BBC have cancelled TV series Angels Of The North amid a major production shake up.
The TV broadcaster has axed the reality show which is based in the North-East after just four series.
The show, which aired on BBC Three, followed a group of stylists at one of the area’s best known hair salons, Longlox.
The most recent series finale saw the women at last year’s Pride march however at the time they did not know this would be their last appearance on the BBC show.
A synopsis for the episode reads: ‘Angels Of The North join the Pride march in the series finale! Sammyjo and the Longlox girls are going all out in their support, but how will Sammyjo survive the day wearing nine-inch heels?

‘At Pure Ink, Jade is summoning up the courage to pierce her first nose. Can she convince Emma and Dan to be her first customers?
‘Shane and John’s health kick continues with a bike ride from the Angel of the North back to Pure Ink, but there’s an unexpected bump in the road for John.’
BBC bosses have now confirmed that episode 10 of the last series was its final ever one.
A spokesperson for the BBC has told Deadline in a statement that there are ‘no plans’ for the show to return.
They said: ‘Whilst there are no plans for a further series of Angels of the North, we would like to thank everyone involved in the making of the programme for allowing our audiences to take a glimpse into the big hair and big style from some of the North East’s biggest personalities.’
It comes after BBC bosses recently cancelled The Tuckers after just three series.
The sitcom, which followed a close-knit family of ‘loveable rogues’ in the Welsh valleys, debuted on BBC One in 2020.
With Lynn Hunter, Robert Pugh, Kimberley Nixon and Alexandria Riley leading the cast, their characters often found themselves on the wrong side of the law.

Earlier this year, BBC fans were left devastated as the BBC also axed another huge series.
The broadcaster confirmed filming on the fifth series of Ghosts had concluded for good on Friday, despite being nominated for a BAFTA for Best Scripted Comedy.
Having first aired in 2019, Ghosts follows a cash-strapped young couple who inherit a rickety country mansion, only to find it teeming with needy ghosts.
The team behind the smash-hit show decided it’s time to wave goodbye to the inhabitants of Button House and focus on new projects.
They said: ‘After five incredible years haunting the halls of Button House, we have decided that the time is right to let our beloved sitcom Ghosts rest in peace.
‘We have just wrapped filming on our fifth and final series and we can’t wait to share it with you all later this year.
‘We could never have imagined the reception the show has enjoyed, or the fun we have had making it, and we would like to thank our amazing cast and crew as well as everyone at BBC Comedy, BBC1 and Monumental Television for their tireless support.
‘But most of all we’d like to thank everyone who watches. Mathew, Martha, Simon, Jim, Laurence and Ben x.’
